The 'Bandit' gets away again !!!

As I was on my way to work, I turned off of the interstate, proceeded to the 4-way stop. I stopped my car @ the 4-way, looked right, looked left, and 'WOW'!!! A 18-wheeler blocking the road with his trailer unhooked from his truck, both lanes too!!! I was like why did he do that, so I am thinking this is a film set for 'Smokey and the Bandit IV', you know, block the road from the Smokey to protect the Bandit? But after a couple of seconds of watching him work feverishly to jack up his trailer, I was like this might work. :) Guess what, it did, about 30 seconds later the smokey did appear to supervise, as you can see in both photos. The Bandit lives to ride another day.

Road Hazard's of the commute sometimes include playing dodge ball. One day on my way home a Big Truck (18 wheeler) blow a re-tread tire. I was the lucky receiver of this gift. :) oh and the front of my car too!!!

Pictures of the storm damage

Most of these pictures are from the West Union/Enterprise area, and northeast New Albany. The West Union area seemed to have received the most damage. Hwy 30 west was closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday until noon.

We had hail about the size of golf balls and tons of rain... Sometimes we are busy looking @ the damage on the ground and never look up. Check out the video to see why we should always monitor the storm.

Stormy Ride Home

I took these right after dropping Brent off at his car Friday afternoon. I was on the west side of New Albany looking west toward the West Union/Enterprise area where Brent took the pictures of the damage.

Hope he had rental truck insurance...

We had a hard time with this one. We did not know if it was a failed attempt to park/pull over or fell asleep at the wheel. Either way the Mississippi Hwy Patrol is there to assist.

Bi-annual Pilgrimage to the Alabama Holy Land (a.k.a. Talladega Superspeedway)

We spotted all of these campers in a 25 mile stretch on hwy 78 Thursday morning. This doesn't include the several that I missed due to a ~150mph closing rate + shutter lag. Unfortunately since Brent and I are both off tomorrow we will miss the bulk of the race fans.
